PREGNANT AFTER CONDOM GOT STUCK?

QUESTION
I had sex for the first time recently and the condom got stuck in me and my boyfriend pulled it out. Is there anyway I could get pregnant? My sides hurt and it feels like cramps but Iím not sure.

ANSWER
Yes, there is a chance of pregnancy with any condom malfunction. Your sides hurting are not symptoms of pregnancy, however. You may be sore from having sex itself!

To find out if you are pregnant, you can wait until your next period or take a pregnancy test. You can buy an over-the-counter test at a drugstore or visit your doctor. You can ask your doctor to keep things confidential. Planned Parenthood is also a good source for confidential help. To find a Planned Parenthood center near you, visit http://www.plannedparenthood.org/findCenterProcess.asp.

In the future, if a condom breaks or gets stuck, you can take Plan B within 3 days to prevent pregnancy. For more information, visit http://www.sfcityclinic.org.

To your health,
Dr. K
