DATA AND REPORTS

CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH STD DATA
  • STD Local Health Jurisdiction (LHJ) Data, 2014
  • STD data from San Francisco (and around CA) made Open and available online
  • The California Department of Public Health provides data access through the CDPH Open Data Portal where users can look-up, among other health-related interests, the case counts and rates of STDs reported by county and for California overall. The Open Data Portal enables users to make their own data tables, graphs, and comparisons. The main link is https://cdph.data.ca.gov/.

To look-up San Francisco case counts and rates of chlamydia, gonorrhea, or early syphilis, click 1st on the “Diseases and Conditions” option and then the link to “Infectious Disease Cases by County, Year, and Sex, 2001-2014”, which is accessible directly at https://cdph.data.ca.gov/Diseases-and-Conditions/Infectious-Disease-Cases-by-County-Year-and-Sex-20/yijp-bauh.

Users can filter the Disease column to find the STD of interest and limit the data to San Francisco by filtering the County column. The data can be further filtered by year and sex, and can be exported into a variety of data types (e.g., Excel, PDF, CSV) or visualized through different data charts (e.g., bar graph, pie chart).

More detail about STDs in San Francisco can be found in our Annual Summaries and Monthly Reports, available at https://www.sfdph.org/dph/files/reports/default.asp.
