SCABIES AND SCARS

QUESTION
I was recently diagnosed with scabies after a trip to Mexico. The treatment prescribed by my doctor worked, however -- and it is a big however -- I still have several minor undulations and marks that the doctor says is scar tissue. How long will these scars linger? I can handle the ones on my buttock and legs but I have a few on my penis, too. Quite understandably, this is ruining my sex life... who wants to play with a pox-marked penis?

ANSWER
Some say that superficial skin scars improve avoiding the sun. Over time most scars continue to get smaller and fade.

As you know, every penis is different and quite unique. One's self-esteem should not be ruined by the size or look of your penis. If any of your sex partners wonder about the marks, you can just explain that they are scar tissue and there is nothing to worry about.

To your health,
Dr. K
